Lincoln Tenants' Panel

Purpose of committee

Please note that Lincoln Tenant Panel meetings are open to the public.

Lincoln Tenants’ Panel (LTP) is composed of nineteen tenant representatives and one leaseholder who sit for a term of four years on a rolling programme of elections.

The seats are:

·         Seventeen tenants elected from the eleven council estates.

·         One leaseholder elected from the city-wide leasehold population.

·         The chairs of the two tenant review groups (elected annually by their respective group).

The panel’s role is to scrutinise the council’s housing landlord function and service delivery from a tenants’ perspective.

Panel members are consulted on changes to housing services, including Executive reports relating to the Housing Revenue Account which are reviewed by the panel for their comments before being passed to Executive to consider when making their decision.

The Portfolio Holder for Housing and the Director of Housing and Regeneration attend meetings quarterly to answer questions from panel members.

Four panel members (including the Chair and Vice-Chair) sit alongside councillors as members of Housing Scrutiny Sub-Committee.

Panel meetings are held monthly on a Wednesday. A copy of the work programme can requested by contacting LTP@lincoln.gov.uk.
