RESOLVED that the minutes of the meeting held on 5 March 2019 be confirmed.

Declarations of Interest

Feedback from Executive - 20 March 2019 pdf icon PDF 87 KB

Minutes:

Graham Watts, Democratic Team Leader and Elections Manager, explained to the Community Leadership Scrutiny Committee that the recommendations of the last review were received and supported by the Executive.

 

Members requested an update on the outcome of the Citizens Advice taking over Universal Credit from April 2019 following the previous review.

 

RESOLVED that:

 

a)    the content of the report be noted

 

b)    an update following the review of Universal Credit/Welfare Reform be provided at the next Community Leadership Scrutiny Committee meeting.

-       Integrated Communities/Neighbourhood Working

-       Health Inequality/ NHS – Special Measures

-       Education Standards

Minutes:

Jane Loffhagen, Chair of Community Leadership Scrutiny Committee:

 

a)    briefly discussed the reviews that had taken place over the past year

 

b)    suggested a number of topics that could potentially be reviewed such as:

 

-       Integrated Communities

-       Neighbourhood Working

-       City Centre/Social Isolation

-       Health Inequality/NHS Special Measures

-       Education Standards

 

c)    invited members comments and questions.

 

Members put a number of suggestions forward that they felt would be appropriate for a review but the Committee agreed that Social Isolation and Integrated Communities were appropriate topics to explore.

5.

Minutes:

Jess Cullen, Democratic Services Officer:

 

  1. presented the draft work programme for 2019/20 as detailed at Appendix A of her report

 

  1. advised that the work programme for the Community Leadership Committee was put forward annually for approval by Council; the work programme was then regularly updated throughout the year in consultation with the Community Leadership Committee and its Chair

 

  1. reported that items had been scheduled in accordance with the existing work programme and officers’ guidance regarding the meetings at which the most up-to-date information could be reported to the committee; the work programme also included the list of portfolio holders under scrutiny

 

  1. requested any relevant comments or suggestions to the proposed work programme for 2019/20.

 

RESOLVED that the work programme 2019/20 as detailed at Appendix A to the report be noted subject to the following:

 

a)    the Chair and Vice Chair to scope a work programme for next municipal year and present at the next meeting for comments.
